BevoFit Privacy Policy

BevoFit helps users find UT Austin recreational facilities, gym hours, and RecSports classes.

Information We Collect

When you submit an optional gym crowd report, BevoFit sends your selected facility, crowd rating, submission time, and an iOS device identifier to Supabase. This identifier lets the app update a device’s report for a facility. Reports are not submitted with your name, email address, or UT credentials.

How We Use Reports

We use crowd reports to calculate and display recent gym crowd levels. Reports from the past 30 minutes contribute to the displayed estimate. This display window does not automatically delete older reports from storage.

Location and Notifications

With your permission, BevoFit uses your location to display your position on the map and provide walking times. Walking time requests send your starting location and destination to Apple Maps for route calculation.

If you enable Nearby Gym Alerts, iOS monitors gym boundaries in the background. BevoFit uses location locally to determine nearby facilities and schedules notifications near open gyms. BevoFit does not upload your GPS coordinates or location history to Supabase. Crowd reports do include the facility you choose to report about.

You can disable nearby alerts in BevoFit and manage location and notification permissions in your device’s Settings.

Local Storage

BevoFit stores preferences, cached facility information, submitted crowd selections, and notification timing information on your device. Deleting the app removes its local app data; it does not delete reports already submitted to Supabase.

Third-Party Services

Supabase provides database and image-hosting services. Apple Maps provides maps and walking directions. These services receive the network requests needed to provide their features, including technical information such as your IP address, and handle information under their own privacy policies.

Links to UT RecSports, TeXercise, IMLeagues, and other websites open external services. Information you enter there, including login credentials, is handled by those services rather than stored by BevoFit.

Your Choices and Contact

Crowd reporting and nearby alerts are optional. You can use facility information and class listings without submitting a crowd report.

We will update this policy and its revision date when our privacy practices change.
